Keith Murray’s South African Experience

Keith Murray is recording the yet to be titled album and is featuring the production work of KB who was responsible for breaking groups like Skeem, Oda meesta and Zola, DJ Cleo who produced the first Platinum selling Hip-Hop album in the country for Pitch Black Afro as well as Bongani Fassie whos talents are laid bare in the work he has done with Jozi, Ishmael, Malik and his forays into jazz music as well as 37Mph and other producers in the country. Artists that have been working on the album with Keith Murray include Zola, HHP, Amu, Jub Jub, MAGGZ, Jozi, Malik, Morafe, Brickz, Gumshev and several other hip-hop and Kwaito acts.

American rapper Keith Murray, currently in South Africa to work on his latest album with local artists, has been robbed and is now offering a R50 000 reward for the return of his laptop.According to Lance Stehr, CEO of Ghetto Ruff, the rap icon lost “the last 12 years of his work” stored on the Apple Mac and was now desperate to get it back.

Two armed men stormed into the first floor Cube recording studios in Parkview and held up Murray and several other people at about 10pm on Tuesday night.According to Stehr, the two men took “about four laptops” and then robbed everyone present of their cellphones and cash.

He said it was believed that they had another two accomplices who waited for them downstairs while the robbery took place.Murray is currently laying down a track using Brenda Fassie’s Weekend Special, with her son, Bongani Fassie, as the producer.

Rapper Keith Murray became the victim of a robbery in South Africa, while traveling overseas to work on his new album.

Pretoria News reports that Murray and several other people were robbed at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 18) by two armed men, who entered the first floor of Cube recording studios in Parkview.

At the time of the incident, the rapper was working with various South African artists and producers on the album, including producer Bongani Fassie and DJ Cleo.
The incident comes days after Murray refuted claims by various members of the South African Hip-Hop community, including YFM’s Hip-Hop DJ, Lee Kasumba, that he was high on drugs when he made a surprise appearance at the Bassline Music Series earlier this month.

On a more positive note, voted the most popular teacher on the Reality TV show – Project Fame, RJ Benjamin is getting ready to release his second album entitled, Swimming in the Soul of Music.

Though its has been some time since RJ’s first album dropped, he has been busy lacing for some of the biggest acts in Hip Hop. A track currently playing on every radio station is from Tumi’s new album “Music from my good eye’ and also laced on the ever popular track “Dreamer” with Slikour.

RJ has also fast become the most requisted voice trainer, amongst the music industry.

His new album has shown the growth that this young man has gone thru in this short time period.
